After first installing LED Direct 3, creating your Cycle show disk and installing your Specialties, you are ready to make changes to your show disk. Open the LED Direct 3 program by clicking on the START Menu, then Programs and then on the LED Direct 3 Folder and program file.

Insert the Cycle show disk you created into your Drive A and click on the Open Show button as shown below.

Your window will look similar to the one below. There will be three buttons on the right of the top window and the Edit Message: drop-down box will indicate 0 of 10. You are ready to create your 10 custom text messages.

Creating your Custom Text Messages:
Click on the down arrow next to the '0' in the Edit Message: box and choose '1' to edit message one.
Your text cursor will be blinking in the lower-left white window where it says: Enter your text messages below.
As you type your first line of text, you will see how it will look in the top black box. Until you become familiar with the fonts, first type a few words and then try changing the font in the Select Font drop-down window to view the styles.
Hint: G2S LED1 works best for most messages but G2S LED4 and G2S LED7 in all caps will give you more lines of text.
Words will not automatically wrap to the next line so if the last word on the line doesn't fit you may need to use the backspace button to delete the last letters that wrapped to the next line and hit the enter key after the last word that fits to advance to the next line.

Continue to fill your lines of text. If you start out using a small font and later change to a larger font, the words may be longer and will automatically wrap some letters to the next line. It may be easier to just click on the Clear Screen button to remove all the text you entered and start the message over.

When you like the way the words fit per line, you can then click anywhere on individual lines in the lower white box and then click on the Center Text button to center the line. This will determine the space at the end of the line and add appropriate spaces at the beginning to center the text. You will need to click on each line you want to center. If you want to change fonts after centering lines of text, remember to click immediately in front of the first word of each line and backspace to eliminate the extra spaces so it can recalculate the space with the new font.
Hint: Try using a row of ^^^^^, *******, or ///////// to create a border at the top or bottom of the message.

After you are satisfied with the message, click on the Accept Message button to write the message to your show disk in the floppy disk drive. You cannot edit the other custom messages until you either accept the current one you are working on or click on the Cancel Edit button. If you edited a message but decide you don't want to have it appear in your show, you must click on the Clear Screen button and then the Accept Message button. Just deleting any text in the white edit window and accepting will cause your show to display a black screen for the 5 seconds for that message.

When you have finished creating all the messages you want, you can save them to your computer, as well, by clicking on the Customs menu at the top and then clicking on Save Custom Messages to Hard Drive (see below). When you download your new Cycle show disk and open the show in LED Direct 3, simply click on the Customs menu and select Retrieve Custom Messages from Hard Drive to copy the messages you saved previously to your new show disk. You can still edit the individual messages whenever you want but don't have to re-enter common messages each time!

Adding your Specialty messages:
You can now control which store specialty messages you want to use on the sign and where in the show you want them to appear.
After opening your Cycle show disk in LED Direct 3 by inserting the Cycle show disk into your Drive A, click on the Specialties menu at the top to open the Update Specialties window (see below).

Simply drag one of the Available Specialties in column on the left and drop it on one of the folders in the middle column. When you release, it will insert a disk icon below the folder you drop it on. The folders represent topics, ads and custom messages that are part of the Cycle show in the order they appear. We do all the work to create these high graphic and animated messages - all you have to do is drag and drop to add them to your show. If you want to change where the Specialty appears in the show, simply grab it and move it. Right click on one that you want to remove from the show and click on Delete from Show (see below). This only removes it from your show disk, it does not delete it from the Available Specialties.

After you have added your Specialty messages, click on the Accept button to apply your changes. How many you have added to your show and how many are animated will determine how long it will take to write them to your floppy disk. Please be patient. When it is through writing the files to your Cycle show disk, you will be returned to the first window.

That's it!
You can now click on the Exit Program button and insert your edited disk into your sign and turn it on. Once your show is running on the sign, you can remove it and change messages at any time. Just remember to turn the sign off and back on after inserting the disk again to load the new show.
